Were you part way through, or already finished film school, before you came to the realization that you probably aren’t going to be a professional director or cameraman?
Did they tell you that Toronto has fewer top tier persons in those roles than players on a NHL hockey team, making your chances of playing for the Leafs better than landing one of those jobs?
Should you still want to give it a shot, but can’t get your foot in the door, we offer four month paid (albeit minimum wage) internships that will teach you more about real film equipment and how it is used than your four years of post secondary education.
Successful Candidates must have the following qualifications:
Common Sense: If you don’t have the basic ability to perceive, understand, and judge things, you aren’t going to make it.
Stamina: The hours can be long, and you will be (at times) working outside with heavy gear.
Good Work Ethic: If you have not always worked hard with diligence at every task you have been assigned we don’t want you.
Driver’s License: A valid Ontario Driver’s License with a clean abstract, that you may or may not need, however at this point in your life if you can’t drive you are a bit of an under achiever.
By the end of your internship you will have seen and learned enough to determine if this is the business for you. We may well offer you permanent employment or you may be picked up as a Production Assistant by one of the many Production Managers we supply.
We take pride in the fact that many of our former interns now work for, or are our customers, so if you are not overly intimidated please apply by phone at: 416.869.3330
